United States Perfectionist with a positive attitude and great communication skills. I develop fullstack apps in JavaScript (React, Node, Next.js) and I also specialize in the niche of Directus development (Designing content models, Directus flows, and custom Directus extensions). Prior to starting my career as a software engineer I worked as a WordPress developer, cinematographer, and editor. I am an American expat living abroad since 2021, after I graduated with a BFA in documentary film from Chapman University in 2020.
I have been developing responsive sites for more than two years. I graduated from 4-month highly-intensive coding school (Parsity), in the beginning of 2023 and have since been working as a freelancer on Upwork.
The best way to get a feel for my experience level is to look at the full stack applications I’ve built and deployed. All of my projects are original ideas and have real world applications. From a personality standpoint I’m straightforward and I quickly grasp others’ ideas. Working with clients in the film industry gave me feel for intuitively understanding people’s visions, and maintaining a constant channel of communication. I bring a lightness and humor to my work life, and I enjoy building meaningful connections with the people I work with.
Outside of work, my passions are for traveling and learning languages. I’ve lived in Brazil, China, Montreal, Vietnam, Thailand, Italy, and Portugal, and hope to continue exploring for the rest of my life. I also skateboard in my free time and enjoy classic literature, particularly Dostoyevsky, Victor Hugo, Jorge Amado, and James Clavell.
I am well-versed in modern best practices with React, including using functional components, hooks, optimistic rendering, and I have experience in cross-functional teams, test-driven development, and Agile methodologies. I’ve used a plethora of frameworks and libraries, including React-DnD, Swiper.js, Auth0, Railway, HTML-React-parser, article-parser, moment.js, rc-time-picker and many more. I can handle full stack development, either working as a role within a team or handling the entire stack myself.
